Abdi is a versatile player who is naturally a Central Midfielder but can also play at right back or centre back.

He joined Liverpool aged 9 and has gone on to make his way through the ranks, playing for the u16s, u18s and u23s. Abdi was a key player for the u18s throughout the 18/19 season where he scored a penalty in the FA Youth Cup final against Man City which Liverpool went on to win.

After signing his first professional contract during the summer of 2019, he picked up a knee injury and missed the remainder of the season, however he is now back to full fitness and has high hopes for the 2020/21 season and has recently signed a contract extension with Liverpool
